RESERVE BANK OF INDIA - DIRECT RECRUITMENT FOR THE POST OF OFFICERS IN GRADE B (Direct Recruit-DR) (On Probation-OP) (General/DEPR/DSIM) STREAMS- PANEL YEAR 2023 

Reserve Banks of India RBI, the Banker of Bank and One of the Most Prestigious places to work in India, are invited for the post of GRADE-B Officers in Reserve Bank of India (RBI/Bank) from Indian citizens, citizens of Nepal and subjects of Bhutan and persons of Indian origin who have migrated from Pakistan, Myanmar, Sri Lanka and East African countries or Kenya, Uganda and United Republic of Tanzania with the intention of permanently settling in India and in whose favour Eligibility Certificates have been issued by Government of India.

Before applying, candidates should ensure that they fulfill the eligibility criteria for the advertised posts in the Reserve Bank of India (RBI / Bank). The Reserve Bank of India Services Board, hereinafter referred to as ‘Board’, would admit to the Examinations all the candidates applying for this post with the requisite fee/intimation charges (wherever applicable) on the basis of the information furnished in the ON-LINE application and shall determine their eligibility only at the final stage i.e. interview stage. If at that stage, it is found that any information furnished in the ON-LINE application is false/ incorrect or if according to the Board, the candidate does not satisfy the eligibility criteria for the post, his/ her candidature will be cancelled and he/she will not be allowed to appear for interview.

RBI Grade B Officers Exam Eligibility Criteria :

A) Nationality : A  candidate must be either :-
(a) a citizen of India, or
(b) a subject of Nepal, or
(c) a subject of Bhutan, or
(d) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January,1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India,  or
(e) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in  India.

B) Age Limits (As on 1st of May 2023):
A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years on the 1st of May 2023 i.e., he/she must have been born not earlier than 2nd May 1993 and not later than 1st May 2002. For candidates possessing M.Phil. and Ph.D. qualification, upper age limit will be 32 and 34 years respectively.

C) Educational Qualification (as on 01-05-2023) :

1. Officers in Grade B (DR) - (General)
Graduation in any discipline /Equivalent technical or professional qualification with minimum 60% marks (50% for SC/ST/PwBD applicants) or Post-Graduation / Equivalent technical qualification with minimum 55% marks (pass marks for SC/ST/PwBD applicants) in aggregate of all semesters / years.

Note:

Graduation Level:

Any such course from a recognised University / Institute that is taken after Class XII and is at least of 3 years duration/ candidates possessing professional or technical qualifications which are recognised by the Government as equivalent to professional or technical graduation will be eligible for admission to the examination, subject to obtaining minimum marks prescribed above.

Post-Graduation Level:

Any such course from a recognised University / Institute that is taken afterGraduation and is at least of 2 years’ duration / recognised by the Government as equivalent to professional or technical Post-graduation will be eligible for admission to the examination, subject to obtaining minimum marks prescribed above.

2.Officers in Grade B (DR) - DEPR
Essential:  a) A Masters Degree in Economics / Econometrics / Quantitative Economics / Mathematical Economics / Integrated Economics Course/ Finance, with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters / years from a recognised Indian or Foreign University /Institute.

b) PGDM/ MBA Finance with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters /years from a recognised Indian or Foreign University /Institute; OR
c) Masters Degree in Economics in any of the sub-categories of economics i.e. agricultural/ business/ developmental/ applied, etc., with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters /years from a recognised Indian or Foreign University /Institute.

Desirable: A Doctorate Degree in Economics or research or teaching experience in Economics or publications in standard journals would be considered as an additional qualification.

3. Officers in Grade B(DR) - DSIM
Essential: a. A Masters Degree in Statistics/ Mathematical Statistics/ Mathematical Economics/ Econometrics/ Statistics & Informatics from IIT-Kharagpur/ Applied Statistics & Informatics from IIT-Bombay with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters / years; OR
b. Masters Degree in Mathematics with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters / years and one year post graduate diploma in Statistics or related subjects from an institute of repute; OR
c. M.Stat. Degree of Indian Statistical Institute with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate of all semesters / years OR
d. Post Graduate Diploma in Business Analytics (PGDBA) jointly offered by ISI Kolkata, IIT Kharagpur and IIM Calcutta with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters/years.
Desirable: (i) Candidates with a Doctorate in topics related to above subjects will be given preference.
(ii) Research or teaching experience and publication in standard journals will be considered as an additional qualification.
Candidates possessing M.Phil. and Ph.D. qualification in the specified subjects will be eligible for relaxation in upper age limit by 2 years and 4 years respectively.
Candidates with research / teaching experience at a recognized Indian / Foreign University/Institute will be eligible for relaxation in upper age limit to the extent of number of years of such experience subject to a maximum of three years. For experience, probationary period will not be reckoned.

D) Number of attempts : Candidates belonging to General Category/EWSs, who have already appeared Six times for Phase-I Examination for this post/s in the past, are not eligible to apply. No such restriction applies to candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PwBD, if the posts are reserved for them.

(i) Pay Scale : Selected Candidates will draw a starting basic pay of ₹55,200/-p.m. in the pay scale of Rs. 55200-2850(9)-80850-EB-2850 (2) - 86550-3300(4)-99750 (16 years) applicable to Officers in Grade B and they will also be eligible for Dearness Allowance, Local Allowance, House Rent Allowance, Family allowance and Grade Allowance as per rules in force from time to time. At present, initial monthly gross emoluments are ₹1,16,914/- (approx) The House Allowance of 15% of Basic Pay will be paid, if accommodation is not provided by the Bank

(ii) Seniority: Candidates selected from separate recruitments for the post of Officer in Gr. B (DR) for General, DEPR, DSIM streams will join the Common Seniority Group and the seniority among these Officers will be fixed according to the ranking worked out by using the standard percentile score of aggregate marks of selected candidates.

(iii) Initial appointment will be on probation for a period of two years.
At Banks discretion, the probationary period may be extended upto a maximum period of four years.
(iv) There are reasonable prospects for promotion to higher grades.
(v) Selected candidates are liable to be posted and transferred anywhere in India.

SCHEME OF SELECTION: Selection for the aforementioned posts will be done through RBI Grade B Officers ONLINE examinations in Phase - I and Phase - II and interview.

Application Fees (Non-refundable) :

RBI Grade B Officers Exam Application Fee including intimation charges Rs. 850/- (Rupees Four Hundred only) + 18% GSTare to be paid by OBC and General category candidates.

SC/ST/PwBD intimation charges only : Rs.100/- + 18% GST

Staff – Nil

Bank/Transaction charges are to be borne by the candidate.

Fees once paid will neither be refunded nor be adjusted against any future recruitment projects. 

Candidates have to apply only RBI Grade B Officers Exam ON-LINE through the Banks website i.e. www.rbi.org.in from May 09 – June 09, 2023 (till 06:00 p.m.). Detailed instructions for applying ON-LINE are available on the website. Candidates need not submit the system generated print out (hard copy) of the ON-LINE application to the Boards office. 

Candidates desirous of applying for posts in both Gr.B (DR)-General and Gr B (DR) DEPR / DSIM (as the case may be) are required to apply using links for both the positions separately and pay the fees for both.
